Oregon Ski Guides is a division of Timberline Mountain Guides, Inc. that focuses on ski trips, instructional courses, and guided ski descents off peaks in Oregon and Washington. We are based in Bend, Oregon and have been a Central Oregon company since 1983. All of our guides have received American Mountain Guides Association training. We take pride in our programs and hope you will come join us for a skiing or snowboarding trip in the back country this season. From mid-winter powder skiing below treeline to skiing off volcanic summits in the summer, our trips span the full continuum of the ski and snowboard experience.
At Timberline Mountain Guides, we believe the strength of our organization lies in our guides. They are friendly instructors and talented climbers who all have a common passion for sharing mountain experiences with enthusiastic guests. Our guide service is an official accredited program of the American Mountain Guides Association.
All of TMG’s guides have received professional training through the American Mountain Guides Association, and all have wilderness-based medical training. To be a professional guide, one must be committed to the learning process – both ours and our clients – through specialized training and personal development. We are dedicated to professional training and to raising the bar for mountain guiding standards in America.
Protected in the trees beneath the exposed terrain of Tam McArthur Rim are two 20’ yurts and a wood fired sauna. Our wood-heated yurts are beautifully handcrafted by skiers, for skiers. Both the Owl and Raven yurts have full kitchens, dining & lounge areas and each Yurt has six bunks.
Ideally located for ski touring, guests have access to 280,000 snow covered acres in the Three Sisters Wilderness. Tam McArthur Rim rises up 1,500 feet directly from the yurts and stretches for two miles, providing an incredible variety of terrain including open bowls, treed glades, couloirs, gentle meadows, and steep chutes.
Beyond Tam McArthur Rim, the wilderness stretches over spectacular ridges, glades, lakes and buttes leading to peaks over 10,000 feet. Broken Top, South Sister, Middle Sister and North Sister are all within a few miles. The mountains and the surrounding terrain offer limitless tours and lines for all levels of ability.
Our guides offer decades of experience and local knowledge. Familiarity with the terrain and snow pack allow our guides to safely take you directly to the best stashes and sweetest lines.
You can also request a keg to be packed into the yurt from one of our fabulous local breweries.
These huts are located 6 snow-covered miles and 1,100 feet above the Three Creeks Sno-park on the shore of Three Creeks Lake.
