Hydro Flask

Hydro Flask was founded in 2009 in Bend, Oregon, when they launched the first all-insulated bottle (cold or hot) line-up into the market. From modest beginnings, they exploded with hydration-loving fans everywhere to hit 1 million in sales by 2011. They then turned their attention to the beer market and launched the first-ever insulated growler. And they haven’t stopped since.

Silipint

Maybe it was fresh thinking – inspired by the Cascadian mountain air, or joyfulness – induced by long stretches of sunshine, but something amazing was happening in Bend, Oregon when Rick Fredland created the first Silipint in 2010. Always the inventor, Rick had already created the world’s first silicone dog bowl – the Tazlab Aqua-Fur.  Looking for new ways to promote this incredibly simple yet versatile material, he thought, “Why not a pint glass?”
With enthusiastic support from the community, Rick brought together a team connected by their shared vision for innovative, thirst-quenching solutions. The response was overwhelming and soon the company and adventure was launched.

made in bend drinktank

Drink Tanks

When Nicholas Hill began developing the DrinkTanks growler, he set out to change the way people drink beer. He noticed that, despite the burgeoning national craft beer scene, there wasn’t a container on the market that treated craft beer with the same care and respect that the brewers put into it. Despite incredible innovation occurring within the craft beer scene, the portable containers used to carry beer had stayed the same.

With the help of his father, Dr. Tim Hill, he began developing a design that would revolutionize personal beer containers. Dr. Hill passed away in 2011, but Nicholas continued to develop the idea. In 2013, Engineer John Herrick joined the team and helped finalize the initial design. Eschewing traditional fundraising methods, Nicholas launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring the DrinkTanks Growler to market. The campaign was a wild success, launching DrinkTanks into the spotlight of a worldwide audience of craft beer enthusiasts.

Rather than outsourcing the majority of the labor put into the product, Nicholas opted to move as much of it in-house as possible. He set up a manufacturing facility where all of the powder coating, custom engraving and assembly for every DrinkTanks product are currently done. By retaining the labor in-house, DrinkTanks is able to bring jobs to Nicholas’ hometown of Bend, Oregon, as well as ensure that the quality of the overall product is far superior to any other growler on the market.

made in bend bounce

 Bounce Energy Balls

Bounce was founded in 2004 by Aussie couple Paula and Andy Hannagan, who had a big idea and the balls to invest what little savings they had into bringing Bounce to life in Bend, Oregon.

Both Paula and Andy have backgrounds in health and fitness but this was their first foray into the nutrition world. They built the business from the ground up. In the early days, they used their garage as a warehouse and Andy knocked on retailer doors offering to sell his balls (…a humorous anecdote that’s still a running joke).

Together, Paula and Andy are passionate, enthusiastic, love life and get a kick out of helping people feel good. They live and breathe the Bounce philosophy and continue to grab life – stretching and challenging themselves to see what’s possible for themselves and the brand, whilst contributing as much as they can to the lives of others.
