Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center

During the core part of the winter season, lessons are available every day at the Nordic Center! One-hour Cross Country lessons start from the lodge five times daily between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Choose a group lesson, or reserve a private lesson for one-on-one instruction.  Sessions longer than one hour include our multi-week performance clinics in skate and classic techniques, offered throughout the season.

Cross Country Skiing is divided into two techniques or styles:  Classic (a.k.a. Diagonal Stride) where the skier glides straight-ahead in parallel tracks and Skate (a.k.a. Freestyle) which involves a motion similar to ice-skating.

XC Ski Rentals & Demos in Bend, OR
At WebSkis, we have a great selection of skis and boots so that you can often try before you buy at our Bend, Oregon store.

Our rentals are designed for those who want to try out skate or classic skiing or maybe take a lesson, etc. Our rental fleet includes Fischer CRS skate skis, Fischer Superlight ‘Zero’ classic skis, and Fischer Voyager ‘Waxless’ skis. All of our rental skis get cleaned and waxed every time they get returned to us (yes, even the ‘waxless’ skis), so they are all well cared for. These are all really nice skis, not just beater skis that have been shredded to pieces. We want you to enjoy the experience and encourage you to get into skiing. Our rental boots include the Fischer RC3 Skate boot and the RC5 Combi boot. Our rental poles are lightweight Swix CT5 poles – a nice carbon composite ski pole with a real strap, not just a simple loop strap. All of our rental skis use NNN bindings.

Bend Endurance Academy

The Bend Endurance Academy Nordic program serves all abilities of youth and junior cross country skiers. We also offer select programs for adults.

Some of our participants are just learning to ski and others are motivated to improve their efficiency and fitness; some may never compete and others are striving to be their best at state, regional or even national competition. All practice sessions are led by professional coaches who promote winter fun in a safe environment where skiers improve their skills.
