The Dirty Half was on Sunday in the Phil’s Trail area. It was a beautiful day! Perfect running weather. This is such a fun race running in our beautiful forest. Bend’s Max King came in first place, no surprise there! Good job, Max! I was able to shave off one minute of my time, coming in almost an hour after Max…hey, at least I finished.
A lot of fun things coming up in Bend…the Oregon Senior Games – ages 50 plus can participate in these games – although 50 seems a bit young these days…especially in Bend where some of the 50+ crowd are in awesome shape! Go to oregonseniorgames.com for more info. Games are held June 17-21 this year.
For kids…Regal Cinemas in the Old Mill District have discounted movies for kids on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10am from June 23 – August 19. Cost: $1.00.
Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe has their Pickin’ & Paddling’ festival on June 24 with live music and free demos from 4-7pm.
Central Oregon Pride 2015 is scheduled for June 20 in Drake Park from noon – 6pm. Visit centraloregonpride.org for more information.
Of course there’s another BEER event — June 18 is the date for this year’s Fermentation Celebration. Held in the Old Mill District from 4-10pm and cost is $20.
The ever popular Bite of Bend is scheduled for June 21 in downtown Bend. Don’t miss the Bite of Bend Beer Run. Where else can you participate in a 5K run and stop for multiple beer tastings along the way! Only in Bend!! The “race” starts at noon at Crow’s Feet Commons downtown. Cost is $35.
