Built in 1936, the Pine Tavern is not only one of Bend Oregon’s best restaurants, but it’s a tradition for locals and tourists alike. The restaurant is designed with unique characteristics that appeal to everyone, including the giant Ponderosa pine tree growing in the middle of the dining area and cozy nooks. Located in the heart of Downtown along Mirror Pond, the warm and friendly atmosphere and service is very welcoming. Not to mention, the hallmark hot scones served with honey butter and locally sourced produce, meats and ingredients.
Best selling author, Gerry Frank, reviewed the Pine Tavern and mentioned some of the menu options:
The lunch menu, featuring classic and eclectic choices prepared with Northwest ingredients, includes entree salads, a daily blue plate special and classic meatloaf. Dinner choices range from Pine Tavern’s prime rib ($32.95) and baked stuffed salmon with Dungeness crab ($28.95) to chicken-fried chicken breast and gravy ($16.95), appetizers, pastas and full meals of lunchtime favorites. If you’re in town on the weekend, the Sunday-night specials are roasted leg of lamb and Pine Tavern Shepherd’s Pie made with chicken. Signature scones with honey butter, akin to manna from heaven, are served with every meal. This is a traditional central Oregon dining experience; hours are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
