canoeing wanderlust

Wanderlust Tours

Book a canoeing tour on pristine lakes along the Cascade Lakes Highway.

Local favorites include Hosmer Lake, Sparks Lake and Elk Lake. Canoeing is great fun for adults and kids. Central Oregon’s high cascade lakes offer beautiful mountain views, abundant wildlife, and fabulous fishing. Canoeing on the calm waters with local guides, who take you to their favorite spots, is a magical experience!

Here in Central Oregon, canoeing isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way of life. That’s because the locals know what every visitor could probably guess: some of the very best scenery in the Cascades is only accessed by boat.

Whether you live here, or are visiting for the first time, don’t let another summer slip by without trying your hand at the incredibly fun and easy-to-learn sport of canoeing.

Join us in our beautiful outdoor classroom as we introduce and practice the skills every new paddler needs to explore these beautiful waterways. We’ll begin with a relaxing introduction to canoeing where you will learn about boat dynamics, appropriate gear and our favorite paddling destinations.

Our staff has over a hundred years of combined experience exploring remote coastlines, leading sea kayaking tours from Mexico to Alaska, and navigating some of the world’s most challenging whitewater. And while we love to share our stories, we’re most interested in hearing yours: Let’s get you out on the water with the knowledge, skills and gear you need to enjoy a safe and comfortable afternoon paddle or a full-on sea expedition. And then make sure to come back and tell us all about it.

Stand Up Paddle Bend (Rentals)

We have helped many people get started finding a SUP Board that is right for them.  We like to start by putting boards into four different categories.

• Flatwater SUP Boards designed to take on water away from the surf zone.

• Paddle Surf Boards or boards that are to designed to ride waves.

• All-Around SUP Boards which do a little bit of everything and are great family boards.

Whitewater SUP Boards which have in the past been either surf or all-around boards but we now see a new generation of dedicated Whitewater SUP boards.

Of course any board can be used anywhere.  Much like in golf you could use a putter off the tee or a driver to putt the ball in the hole.  But we explain the design features of the different types of boards so you can make an informed decision on which board is best for you.  and as always feel free to call us to ask any other questions you might have.
